ABOUT DACOS

ABOUT DACOS

Welcome to DACOS (Digital Antonello Croce Occlusal System). Developed in collaboration with Blender For Dental and Ruthinium. Conceived by our Antonello Croce, this project combines the expertise of leading companies in digital dentistry to bring you a truly innovative solution. The DACOS System is a patent-pendind system designed to facilitate the seamless transfer of 3D-printed models and dentures into traditional articulators with the use of magnets. It provides a unique solution in the digital dentistry workflow, especially for denture applications, where there are no alternatives methods to place back the prosthesis in the traditional articulator for occlusal checking. It is compatible with all types of articulators.

Introducing DACOS

What Does It Do?

WHAT

The innovative system that allows you to reposition any 3D-Printed model into your traditional articulator using a magnet-based system. It is optimized for 3D model printing, offering a unique solution in the market.

Introducing DACOS

How Does It Work?

HOW

The use of DACOS is based on the innovative use of the DACOS module and the DACOS Plate. This system allows the generation of a 3D-printed model with specific attachments. Magnets are inserted into these attachments, allowing the model to easily and securely attach to the articulator. The DACOS Plate is designed to perfectly reflect the geometry and coordinates specified in the DACOS module, ensuring that the printed model aligns correctly within the articulator. This technology guarantees unparalleled precision in model repositioning, faithfully reflecting the original digital design while maintaining the spatial accuracy required for high-quality dental checks.

Introducing DACOS

Who Develops and Distributes it?

WHO

The software component was developed and will be marketed by Blender For Dental®, a leader in the sector. Within the DACOS software module, users will find a button that directs them to Ruthinium®'s e-commerce for purchasing the kit.

Ruthinium is handling the distribution of the DACOS KIT and its components through its own e-commerce platform and distribution network. Each DACOS kit will include a QR code that, when scanned, will direct users to the Blender For Dental site for purchasing the software module.

Universal Application
Compatible with all articulators. Install it once with plaster and benefit for a lifetime.
Integrated Calibration
Thanks to the auto-installation, the first time you install DACOS, it will be automatically adapt to the specific settings of your articulator
Designed For Printing
Meticulously designed to integrate perfectly with 3D Printing Nesting.

"One Click, All Set"

1.

Install

Begin by installing the DACOS Plate in your articulator using the correct calibrator (40mm-60mm) from the DACOS Kit. This one-time installation ensures compatibility with any articulator and guarantees long-term precision, without the need for recalibration. Once installed, you’re ready to go!

2.

DACOS Your Models

Transform your existing models from software like Exocad or 3Shape into DACOS-ready models using the DACOS Module in Blender For Dental. Simply select your model, then click on “Finish Upper” or “Finish Lower” to finalize the process. In just a few clicks, your models are ready to be exported and printed.

3.

Print and Articulate

Print your models with your preferred 3D printing system. No need to worry about supports—just place the models horizontally and click on Automatic Nesting. Once printed, use the GlueJet Tool to place the magnet into the model, and you’re all set to articulate them in your chosen articulator!

Some questions to answer.

Can I nesting the models with supports underneath it when using DACOS?

Absolutely, and we even recommend it! The DACOS system is meticulously designed to integrate seamlessly with 3D printing processes, including those that use supports. One of the key benefits of DACOS is its ability to adapt smoothly to dimensional variations that may occur along the Z-axis during 3D printing.

The overexposed layers of the model expand horizontally and are located on the base beneath the supports. This design ensures that the model is built with correct exposure, preventing any vertical deformation during detachment from the FEP film—unless there are anomalies with the printer, print speed, or process interruptions.

Additionally, the inside of the attachments is deliberately free of supports in critical areas and has horizontal extensions that are reduced below the deformation threshold, eliminating the risk of structural collapse during the build. The supports are configured with optimal inclinations to prevent any collapse, ensuring that the model retains its structural integrity.

DACOS not only allows but recommends placing supports under the model to guarantee the accuracy and stability of the printing process, offering a reliable and effective system for all professionals in digital dentistry.

If I apply too much adhesive, won't it affect the final Z position?

No need to worry! We've already thought of everything. Simply ensure that you apply the required amount of adhesive and use the GlueJet included in the kit to glue the magnet in place. The part that makes contact with the articulator is not the magnet itself but a specially designed surface that avoids any undesired variation in the Z position. This feature is visible through the attachment windows, allowing you to check alignment without interference.

Do my articulators need to be calibrated?

With DACOS, calibrating your articulators is no longer a concern. Thanks to the integrated auto-calibration system, DACOS adapts to the specific settings of your articulator the first time you install it. This ensures that the installation is always precise and correct, eliminating the need for repeated calibration and adjustment of your articulators.

Can I use DACOS with Exocad, 3Shape and others CAD?

Absolutely, DACOS is fully compatible with others CAD system! To use it, simply export the models generated in Exocad or 3Shape while maintaining the original spatial coordinates. Then, import these models into the DACOS module, and with a simple click, the models will be ready to be re-exported and printed. DACOS seamlessly integrates with existing workflows, making the process smooth and uninterrupted.

Can I use DACOS with a facebow?

Absolutely! DACOS is designed to be the final element in the digital workflow. If you’ve used a digital facebow transfer system, you won’t have any issues transferring that data to the analog articulator. Just import the models with the digital coordinates acquired from your facebow system into the software, and DACOS will ensure that those models perfectly replicate the recorded position. DACOS is the ideal tool for transforming digital data into precise analog results, making the transition between the two worlds seamless.
